* (Disclaimer: This video content is intended for educational and informational purposes only) * O'Fallon, Missouri — St. Charles County Police have released body camera video that shows a shooting of a 17-year-old. On January 23, two officers with the O'Fallon Police Department responded to a call for a suspicious vehicle that was unlicensed and had heavy damage, with two people inside from a resident living in the 500 block of Prentice Drive. One of the officers approached the car and knocked on the window. The teen looked up, then down. The officer tapped the barrel of his handgun on the window, then smashed it through the glass. The car lurched into reverse, then drive. Then both officers, one on each side of the car, began firing, at least 15 rounds in all, as the car sped off over a suburban lawn. The officer later told investigators he saw through the window a hand holding a gun, and feared for his life. At least two bullets hit the car's driver, 17-year-old Christopher Jones, who died. The passenger, another teen, was arrested. A handgun that had been reported stolen was recovered from the car after the shooting, police said. The incident started just before 11 a.m. Jan. 23 when police were called to the 500 block of Prentice Drive in O'Fallon for reports of a "suspicious vehicle," without license plates, idling. Two people appeared to be sleeping inside. Body camera footage from Officer Matthew Vegovisch shows him walking up to the driver's side window of the white Honda, pulling at the door handle, and drawing his gun. Jones looks at Vegovisch and then toward the inside of the car. Vegovisch pulls at the door handle, saying "open the door" and "don't!" Vegovisch smashes the window glass with the barrel of his gun and the car reverses, hitting the front of Vegovisch's patrol car with its bumper. Vegovisch then steps away from the Honda and begins firing as the car drives forward. He continues shooting as it drives through part of a front yard and down the street. In a statement to St. Charles County Police Department investigators, Vegovisch said when he walked up to the car, he saw "a hand on the center gear shifter and simultaneously saw a hand holding a black handgun." He said he broke the window "in an attempt to get the occupant's attention ... to stop what they were doing." Video from the passenger's side shows Officer Michael Manzella tapping on the window with his hand. The car then reverses, he jumps backward, and then starts shooting as the car drives forward and through the yard. He then makes a call for "shots fired." Manzella told investigators in a statement he heard gunshots and thought they were coming from the car toward him or Vegovisch, so he returned fire. Vegovisch fired four times, Manzella 11, according to the records. Manzella's video shows him getting into his patrol vehicle and following the Honda, which came to rest blocks away. Other officers surrounded the vehicle with their weapons drawn. The passenger gets out of the car and is arrested. Jones is pulled from the driver's seat and officers begin doing CPR. Jones was transported to SSM Health St. Joseph Hospital in Lake Saint Louis, where he died. Jones was shot at least twice — once through the back and once in the back of the head. The bullet that went through Jones' back, which was fatal, was fired by Vegovisch; the round found in his head was fired by Manzella. Mere Simulacrity, Session 11 We are in the midst of transitioning from an objectively true, historically consistent, analogue world and into a world that is subjectively purposed, revolutionary, and digital in construct. In fact, more so than ever before, we are in a period of time where the “what is” is being demonized and the wizard’s trick of “what it should be” is being lauded as a preferred pathway to the real. A hyperreal world of dreams, visions, technology and digital realization is in many ways attempting to take the place of what mankind has always called “reality.” In the late second century, the Christian Bishop, Irenaeus of Lyon, confronted the Gnostic parasitic cult of Valentinus which proposed that this physical world was a “prison” by which men and women needed to be liberated through Gnostic faith and practice. More specifically understood as “anticosmicism”, the Gnostics proclaimed the belief that the objectively knowable world is inherently evil and opposed to the divine. In the Gnostic formulation of their transformed Christianity, true divinity was not the essence of this real, natural world, but its negation and cancellation. Irenaeus of Lyon warned Christians that this parasitic religion of Gnosticism was a religion masquerading as the Gospel but in reality was a simulacrum of true Christianity: “Error, indeed is never set forth in its naked deformity, lest, being thus exposed, it should at once be detected. But it is craftily decked out in an attractive dress, so as, by its outward form, to make it appear to the inexperienced more true than truth itself.” -Irenaeus of Lyons, AD 180 The Gnostics did not seek harmony with the natural world or with the normative Christian understanding of cultivation and dominion. Instead, the Gnostics attempted to parasitically transform the established Christian faith that sought harmony with God’s creation and instead promoted the false concept of the mystical, otherworldly insight that our world must be seen as unnatural and even anti-natural. The natural, in the Gnostic sense, was only available to those that have embraced special knowledge or what can be described as a critical consciousness of the natural world. The way that things are in a natural sense to the Gnostics was “imprisonment” and the mystical otherness of what was not naturally attainable was “liberation.” If you were a woman in the natural and objectively knowable world, in the spiritually anti-natural world the woman's true self was actually that of a man who has been imprisoned by the Demiurgic forces of the natural world. This denial of the objectively real and knowable experienced a renaissance in the 18th and 19th centuries through the works of Swedenborg, Kant, Hegel and eventually Karl Marx. As Dr. James Lindsay has explained at Sovereign Nation’s conferences in the past, Marxism is a Neo-Gnostic theology where Man is made to realize he is his own Creator, his own true Sun that revolves around itself. STORY: 🤍 One woman says her breaking point ended up being the break in a case involving multiple alleged victims of sexual assault at the hands of an O’Fallon, Missouri, chiropractor – and now authorities fear other victims may be out there. She broke down at Frontier Health early last year. Another woman in the office comforted her. Through tears, they discovered they had experienced the same thing, according to St. Charles County Prosecuting Attorney Tim Lohmar. They went to the police. In all, four women who worked there described similar assaults involving Jacob Linkous between 2019 and 2020, according to court records. He’s now charged with 10 counts of sexual assault. But Lohmar isn’t convinced the full story is out there – and neither are the alleged victims. “There was a grooming period that went on with all of these victims,” Lohmar said. “So we have reason to believe this could have been going on much longer than anybody is aware of.” Linkous’ attorney, John Davis, said he has not received all of the reports from Lohmar's office, so he did not want to comment before he could review them. Linkous, 30, told police all of the sexual encounters were consensual and accused some of the alleged victims of sending him explicit photos of themselves, according to court records. He worked at Frontier Health from 2018 to 2020. His license to practice in Missouri expired in February 2021. Two months later, Linkous got a new license in Mississippi, and became the registered agent for a business called Integrative Healthcare. A secretary who answered the phone there said Linkous is currently seeing patients. The business is listed in good standing, according to the Mississippi Secretary of State. The alleged victims from O'Fallon declined to be interviewed for this story, but their attorney, Shannon Norman, spoke on their behalf. “They want the public to know that that this individual victimized them and their concern is that there are other victims out there,” Norman said. “And they want to let those people know that they can come forward, and that they know how hard it is, but that they're not alone and that they can come forward and tell their story. “Ultimately, these women just simply could not move forward, feeling safe in their community, knowing that he was out there doing this to other people.” As difficult as it has been for the alleged victims to come forward, Norman said they all have appreciated the steps Frontier Health took following the allegations. “They immediately removed him from the building, changed the locks, he was never allowed back into the building, and they have supported these victims all the way, and they want to support any other victims who should come forward,” Norman said. Linkous was released January 10 after posting a $10,000 bail. O’Fallon police are asking anyone with information about this investigation to call Sgt. Scott Pierce at 636-379-5646.

In our final discussion of the Changing Tides video series, Michael O’Fallon and James Lindsay discuss the alchemic properties of Hegel’s understanding of science. His view of science isn’t what most of us consider science. Hegel’s view of science is self-referential, more like a “theoretical lens” (or eisegesis) than a skeptical and empirical inquiry into the nature of reality. In other words, for Hegel and his ideological descendants, Theory comes first and evidence after. Though it seems removed from the ideas of today, Hegel’s view of science inspired other “scientific” views down through the modern era, most importantly that of Karl Marx. Marx believed he had a Science of HIstory in his Wissenschaftlicher Sozialismus, “scientific socialism.” He couldn’t have been more wrong. Thinking that his model was truly scientific, however, had a great deal to do with Hegel’s notion of science in which his own speculative idealism, taken as a systematic philosophy, generates the one correct way to understand the world and ourselves within it.
