Faster than take out and you'll know every single ingredient used. ;) When you're short on time and you need something the whole family will love, this take-out fake-out Easy Sesame Chicken has your back. FULL RECIPE BELOW. PRINTABLE RECIPE: 🤍 Full Recipe 👇👇👇 INGREDIENTS CHICKEN 1 large egg 2 Tbsp cornstarch 1 pinch each salt and pepper 1 lb boneless skinless chicken thighs 2 Tbsp cooking oil SAUCE 1/4 cup soy sauce 2 Tbsp water 1 Tbsp toasted sesame oil 3 Tbsp brown sugar 1 Tbsp rice vinegar 1 tsp grated fresh ginger 2 cloves garlic, minced 1 Tbsp sesame seeds 1/2 Tbsp cornstarch FOR SERVING 4 cups cooked jasmine rice 2 whole green onions INSTRUCTIONS 1. First, prepare the sauce. In a small bowl stir together the soy sauce, water, sesame oil, brown sugar, rice vinegar, fresh ginger, minced garlic, cornstarch, and sesame seeds. (Grate the ginger with a small-holed cheese grater). Set the sauce aside. 2. In a large bowl, whisk together the egg, 2 Tbsp cornstarch, and a pinch of salt and pepper. Trim any excess fat from the chicken thighs, then cut them into small 1 inch pieces. Toss the chicken in the egg and cornstarch mixture. 3. Add the cooking oil to a large skillet and heat it over medium flame. Wait until the skillet is very hot, then swirl the skillet to make sure the oil coats the entire surface. Add the batter coated chicken and spread it out into a single layer over the surface of the skillet. 4. Allow the chicken pieces to cook, undisturbed, until golden brown on the bottom. Then, carefully flip the chicken, breaking up the pieces into smaller clumps as you flip. Continue to cook the chicken until golden brown on the other side. Stir the chicken as little as possible to avoid breaking the egg coating from the surface of the chicken. 5. Once the chicken is cooked through and golden brown on all sides, pour the sauce over top. Toss the chicken to coat in the sauce. As the sauce comes up to a simmer, it will begin to thicken. Continue to gently stir the chicken in the sauce until it has thickened, then turn off the heat. 6. Serve the chicken over a bed of rice and sprinkle the sliced green onions over top. Instagram: budgetbytes Facebook: budgetbytes1 Pinterest: budgetbytes Twitter: budget_bytes

🔪 BROWSE MY KITCHENWARE - 🤍 🎉 PURCHASE THE CHINESE COOKING BEGINNER INGREDIENT PACKAGE - 🤍 ❤️ SUPPORT THE CHANNEL - 🤍 🥢 PRINTABLE RECIPE - 🤍 To be honest, the first time I ate this I was thinking, no, Chinese people do not eat sesame chicken. And now, I make it every week. Seriously, who can say no to these crunchy nutty little bites of chicken? And this recipe could be the best sesame chicken you ever had. 🥢 RECIPE - Note: Here I want to correct a mistake in the video. At 03:16 I said to heat up the oil to 300 degrees Fahrenheit. It was an audio mistake, please keep the oil temperature at 380 degrees Fahrenheit while frying. I am really sorry about that. The video is already uploaded, I can't edit it anymore. Ingredients to marinate the chicken (Serve 2-3 people with some white rice) - 1 lb chicken thigh, cut into 1.5 inches cubes - 2 cloves of garlic - black pepper to taste - 1.5 tsp of soy sauce [Amazon Link: 🤍 - 1/2 tsp of salt - 3/8 tsp of baking soda - 1 egg white - 0.5 tbsp of starch (add it to the marinade) - 1 cup of Potato starch (use it to coat the chicken) - 2 cups of oil to fry the chicken Ingredients for the sauce - 2 tbsp of Honey - 3 tbsp of brown sugar - 2.5 tbsp of Soy sauce [Amazon Link: 🤍 - 3 tbsp of water - 2.5 tbsp of ketchup - 1 tbsp of vinegar - Sweet potato starch water to thicken the sauce (2 tsp of potato starch mixed with 2 tsp of water) (Amazon Link: 🤍 - 1 tbsp of sesame oil [Amazon Link: 🤍 - 1.5 tbsp of toasted sesame seeds [Amazon Link: 🤍 - Diced scallion as a garnish INSTRUCTION Cut some boneless and skin on chicken leg into 1-inch size pieces. You can use chicken breast if you wish to. Marinate the chicken with 1 tsp of grated garlic, 1.5 tsp of soy sauce, 1/2 tsp of salt, some black pepper to taste, 3/8 tsp of baking soda, 1 egg white, and 1/2 tbsp of starch. Cornstarch, potato or sweet potato starch, they all work, depends on what you used for the coating later. Mix everything until well combined. Cover it and let it sit for 40 minutes. Add half of the starch into a big container. Spread it out. Add in the chicken. Cover the meat with the other half of the starch. Put on the lid and shake for a few minutes or until the chicken is coated nicely Heat up the oil to 380 F. Add the chicken piece by piece. In less than 2 minutes, you can feel that the surface is getting crispy and the color is slightly yellow. Take them out. Then we gonna do the second batch. Before that, you might want to fish out all those small little bits. It is optional but it does affect the quality of the oil. Keep the temperature at 380 F, and fry the second batch of the chicken. Once you are done, let all the chicken rest for about 15 minutes and we gonna double fry the chicken. Double frying will stabilize the crunchiness so it last longer. At the end we will coat the chicken with some glossy sauce If you don’t double fry it, the chicken might not be crispy while serving. You just keep an eye on the color. In about 2 or 3 minutes, it will reach that beautiful golden color. Take them out and set it aside. Next, we gonna make the sauce. In a large bowl, add in 3 tbsp of brown sugar, 2 tbsp of liquid honey, 2.5 tbsp of soy sauce, 2.5 tbsp of ketchup, 3 tbsp of water, 1 tbsp of vinegar. Mix them until well combined. Put your wok on the stove and pour all the sauce in. There is some sugar sink in the bottom of the bowl, make sure you clean that. Keep stirring the sauce on medium heat. Bring it to a boil and pour in some potato starch water to thicken the sauce. This just 2 tsp of potato starch mixed with 2 tsp of water. Keep stirring until it reaches a thin syrup texture. Introduce the chicken back into the wok, along with a drizzle of sesame oil and 1.5 tbsp of a toasted sesame seed. Toss everything until the chicken is coated nicely. Take them out. Garnish it with some diced scallion and you are done.

🔪 BROWSE MY KITCHENWARE - 🤍 🎉 PURCHASE THE CHINESE COOKING BEGINNER INGREDIENT PACKAGE - 🤍 ❤️ SUPPORT THE CHANNEL - 🤍 Although sesame chicken is a westernized Chinese take-out dish, nobody can say no to these crunchy, nutty little bites of chicken that are covered with a glossy sauce. This dish can be pre-prepped in a large batch and assembled with so little effort. You can make the sauce ahead of time. It will last a few weeks or 6 months in the freezer. You just use it as needed. The chicken can be breaded and deep-fried for the first time. It will stay good in the freezer for six months. Take it out of the freezer whenever you want to eat it again. Directly double fry it without defrosting. Of course, the frozen chicken will take a little longer to fry than when it is fresh. 🥢PRINTABLE RECIPE - 🤍 INGREDIENTS (serves 3 with some white rice) To marinate the chicken 1 lb (450g) of chicken breast or boneless chicken tight 2 cloves of garlic grated black pepper to taste (Amazon Link: 🤍 1.5 tsp of soy sauce (Amazon Link: 🤍 1/2 tsp of salt (Amazon Link: 🤍 3/8 tsp of baking soda (Amazon Link: 🤍 1 egg 3 tbsp of sweet potato starch (Amazon Link: 🤍 For the sauce 2 tbsp of Honey (Amazon Link: 🤍 3 tbsp of brown sugar (Amazon Link: 🤍 2.5 tbsp of Soy sauce (Amazon Link: 🤍 2.5 tbsp of ketchup 1 tbsp of vinegar (Amazon Link: 🤍 2 tsp of starch (Amazon Link: 🤍 3.5 tbsp of water Others 1 cup (130g) of sweet potato starch to coat the chicken (Amazon Link : ) Enough oil to deep fry the chicken 1 tbsp of sesame oil (Amazon Link: 🤍 1.5 tbsp of toasted sesame seeds (Amazon Link: 🤍 Diced scallion for garnish INSTRUCTIONS Cut the chicken into bite-size pieces. A quick method to make sesame chicken extra crunchy: 1. Spray a little bit of water on the starch. Give it 10 seconds to allow some of the starch to clump up into little balls; 2. Fluff the starch by using a whisk; 3. Spray more water, wait for 10 seconds and whisk it again; 4. Do this four times in total. The starch lumps will give some extra crunch to the chicken. Coat the marinated chicken with the starch. Make sure to shake off the excess flour. Let the chicken rest for 15 minutes before frying. Heat the oil to 380 F. Split the chicken into two batches. Fry each batch for a few minutes or until lightly golden. Remove from the oil and let them rest for 15 minutes. While waiting, remove the starch clumps from the oil by using a fine sieve. Keep the temperature at 380 F. Double fry the chicken for 2-3 minutes or until golden brown. Take the chicken out and rest on the side. Double frying will stabilize the crunchiness so it last longer. In a large bowl, combine the brown sugar, honey, soy sauce, ketchup, water, vinegar, and cornstarch. Pour the sauce into a large wok and stir over medium heat until thickened. Introduce the chicken back into the wok, along with a drizzle of sesame oil and 1.5 tbsp of toasted sesame seeds. Toss everything until the chicken is coated nicely. Season it with 1 tsp or 6g of salt, 1 tsp or 2g of black pepper, and 1 tsp or 3g of garlic powder. Next, you are gonna use about 1 tsp or 6g of Soya Sauce. Next, add your most fav hot sauce. I used 3 tsp of Franks Red Hot hot sauce and it turned out great. But if you wanna go the traditional route you can buy Sambal Oelek. For that extra kick add 1/2 tsp or 1g of paprika. Also for added flavor, I added about 2 cloves or 10g worth of minced garlic, this step is optional. Finally, Add 1 Large Egg and mix everything. I added an egg since I will be using a dry batter for frying. Next, we need to make the dry batter. I find that using a dry batter makes really crispy chicken as compared to wet batter. But that's just my opinion. To make this, you need about 1 cup or 120g of flour. To which you will add 1 tsp or 6g of salt. 1/2 tsp or 1g of black pepper and 1/2 tsp or 1g of paprika. This may look like a lot of spices but, trust me this is barely spicy. Mix all dry ingredients together and put them to the side. After you have let your chicken marinate for an hour, add about 3 tbsp or 20g of corn starch. Mix it in properly. Next, we are gonna line things up for frying the chicken. For frying use 2 cups or 500ml of cooking oil. Take a piece of chicken and coat it properly with your dry batter. and gently place it in the oil. Be careful at this step. I fried my chicken at 350F/180C using an induction cooktop which equates to medium-high flame on a regular kitchen stove. Fry the chicken for about 8-10 mins or until golden brown Finally, we are gonna make the sauce. that will transform our fried chicken into crispy sesame chicken. For the sauce start by adding in 1 tbsp or 14g of cooking oil, next add about 1 tsp or 4g of sesame seed oil. Once the oil has heated up add in 2 cloves (10g) of finely chopped garlic, saute it until it turns golden brown. Next, add in 1 tbsp or 20g of honey. If you prefer it to be sweet you can add 2 tbsp or 40g. To give our sauce that tangy-ness, add about 3 - 4 tbsp or 55g of Ketchup. For that added kick I added about 1 tsp of hot sauce. Next, add about 2 tbsp or 20g of brown sugar and 2 tbsp or 32g of soy sauce. Mix everything up nicely and let it come to boil. Also, add about 1 tsp or 3g of sesame seeds. Toss in your fried chicken in the sauce and coat every piece really nicely. Rember to do this step right when you are about to eat otherwise, the chicken will get soggy if it's sitting there for more than 5 mins. That's pretty much it for making the sesame chicken I hope you try this recipe out and enjoy it. Whisk together and reserve 1/4 of the marinate. - Cut the chicken into strips or bite-sized pieces. Combine the remaining marinade and chicken. Cover and marinate in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes or up to 2 hours. For the rice: - In a 4-quart saucepan, combine the rinsed rice, coconut milk, chicken stock, salt, and lime zest. Stir together and bring to a boil over medium heat. Once boiling, reduce the heat to a simmer, cover the rice, and allow it to cook for 15 minutes or until it is tender. - Once cooked, turn off the heat and fluff the rice with a fork. Cover again and allow the rice to rest for 5 minutes before serving. For the meal: - Once the chicken has marinated, heat a large 12-inch skillet over medium heat with the neutral oil. Once hot, add the chicken, discarding any remaining marinade. Sauté the chicken until it is browned and cooked through, 6-8 minutes. Once cooked, remove the chicken from the skillet. - Return the skillet to the heat, add more neutral oil if needed, and add the broccoli florets and scallion. Season with salt to taste. Sauté until the broccoli is crisp-tender, 4-6 minutes. - Whisk the cornstarch into the reserved 1/4 cup of marinade. Add the mixture to the broccoli and bring the liquid to a simmer to activate the cornstarch, 2-3 minutes. - Once the liquid has simmered and is slightly thickened, remove the skillet from the heat. Add back the cooked chicken, stir together, and sprinkle with sesame seeds. Serve with the cooked rice. #dinner #weeknightdinner #recipe #chicken
Today I’m sharing a lightened up version of Sesame Chicken. This recipe is an old favorite of mine from Ellie Krieger. I’ve made a few changes, but the result is flavorful, take-out at home—perfect for a weeknight dinner. ORANGE CHICKEN video: 🤍 Healthy Sesame Chicken (adapted from Healthy Appetite with Ellie Krieger) 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts, diced into bite-sized pieces 5 Tbsp. low sodium soy sauce 4 tsp. toasted sesame oil 2 tsp. honey 6 tsp. olive oil 1 ½ c. chicken broth ¼ tsp. dried ginger 1 Tbsp. rice vinegar 3 Tbsp. sugar 1 Tbsp. cornstarch 6 green onions, chopped 3 garlic cloves, minced pinch of red chili flakes sesame seeds for garnish Place the chicken pieces into a gallon sized Ziplock bag. Add 3 Tbsp. soy sauce, 2 tsp. sesame oil, and 2 tsp. honey. Close bag and squish everything around to coat the chicken. Refrigerate for 20-30 minutes to marinate. Whisk the chicken broth, dried ginger, 2 Tbsp. soy sauce, rice vinegar, sugar, and cornstarch together until combined. In a large skillet, add 2 tsp. olive oil. Use a slotted spoon to remove half of the chicken from the marinade and sauté over medium high heat until golden and cooked through. Remove the first batch of chicken to a plate. Add 2 more tsp. of olive oil and the rest of the chicken and sauté until golden and cooked through. Remove this chicken and carefully wipe out the skillet with a paper towel. Add the remaining 2 tsp. of olive oil and cook the white and half of the green parts of the green onions (reserving the remaining green onions for garnish) along with the garlic and a pinch of red chili flakes. Sauté over medium heat for a minute or until fragrant. Whisk the sauce again to redistribute the cornstarch then pour into the skillet, stirring constantly to prevent any lumps. Bring the sauce to a simmer and allow to thicken. Add the remaining 2 tsp. of sesame oil and stir to combine. Add the chicken back in. Stir to coat the chicken in sauce. Serve over rice and garnish with sesame seeds and reserved green onions. ENJOY! Please SUBSCRIBE to my channel! Recipe Inspired By: 🤍 RECIPE: 3/4 Cup Honey 3/4 Cup Soy Sauce 1/2 Cup Ketchup 1/2 Cup Rice Vinegar 1 tsp. Sesame Oil 1 tsp. Garlic 1 TBSP Corn Starch 1/2 Cup Brown Sugar *Optional: Sprinkle in Sesame Seeds Chicken. ( I used about a pound of chicken breast tenderloins. This recipe does make a good amount of sauce, so I would add it up to 3 pounds of chicken. Anything above that, I'd start to increase the amounts of ingredients used to make the sauce!) Combine all ingredients in your crock pot. Mix well. Add in chicken. You can use fresh or frozen for this recipe. On high this cooks approx. 4 hours. On low I'd give it approx. 6 hours. Adjust depending on the amount of chicken you have. - ▼▼▼ SOCIAL MEDIA ▼▼▼ ❤ BLOG: 🤍 ❤ FACEBOOK: 🤍 ❤ TWITTER: 🤍 ❤ PINTEREST: 🤍 ❤ INSTAGRAM: 🤍 - ▼▼▼ SHOPS & DISCOUNTS ▼▼▼ *These are all FREE to join!* ➜ URBAN DECAY BEAUTY JUNKIES (Get free shipping on all orders, no minimum purchase amount, birthday rewards and more!)- 🤍 ➜ DEALSPOTR- 🤍 ➜ IPSY- 🤍 ➜ BIRCHBOX- 🤍 - ▼▼▼ F.A.Q.'S ▼▼▼ ◇ What camera do I use? - Canon Vixia HF R700 ◇ What do I edit videos on?- Windows Movie Maker & Corel VideoStudio X9 Ultimate ◇ Where do I edit my photos? - PicMonkey (I have tutorials uploaded on how I do this!) - ▼▼▼ COURTNEY, WITH LOVE ▼▼▼ Thank you to all of my wonderful subscribers, both new and old!
