The goal of desk setup was to keep the space minimal but practical to serve my day to day needs when working from home. I am really happy with the outcome and think I've managed to build my dream minimal desk setup and keep the space productive, which has allowed me to work from home effectively. It's a compact and minimal key organizer available in various materials. I've rocked a leather on for the longest time. You can stuff 6 keys in the Orbit Key Organizer while still having a low profile. Attached to it I have the keys to my 2018 Ford F-150 Raptor. I've had it for 4 years now and have put 70,000 miles on it. The interior is a huge step up from the previous generation and Apple CarPlay helps keep everything feeling fresh. I've added the VenomRex VR 601's in Highland Bronze as well as the Stealth Fighter front bumper from the guys at Addictive Desert Designs. The newest component to my keys are the Apple AirTags. When it comes to my phone, I've been using the iPhone XS Max since it was launched. As a guy who loves tech, this is the longest I've owned a phone but the XS leaves little to be desired. I will likely upgrade this year to the 13. Moving along to my wallet, I'm rocking the Pocket Organizer from Louis Vuitton in Monogram Eclipse. It's only slightly thicker than a card holder but provides you much more flexibility and room for miscellaneous things. I've used this everyday for the past 2 or 3 years and it looks nearly perfect. Next up lets talk about the watches. I pretty much exclusively rotate between the gold Stainless Apple Watch Series 5 and the Rolex Datejust ii these days. I have a full video on the Datejust (🤍 The Apple Watch is at a point where it is becoming a necessity purely for the health functions and fitness tracking. I know a knife is the highlight of any EDC so lets get right to the Chris Reeve's Sebenza 31 with the Bog Oak inlay. I always owned a basic pocket knife but it wasn't until I started following Peter McKinnon's EDC account, Pete’s Pirate Life, that I really started getting into the craftsmanship of pocket knifes. It lead to me purchasing my first real knife the Benchmade Bugout which scratched the itch for a bit. However, all my research and seeing stunning pics of Peter McKinnon’s kept leading me to the Large CRK Sebenza 31 Bog Oak. I reached out to Peter McKinnon for advice on which model to get and her told me his was for sale so I picked it up. The Chris Reeves Sebenza 31 Large sports a S35VN blade that has a stunning polished finish. $500 for a knife might seem a bit much but when you start learning about the materials and tolerances used to craft this knife, the price starts to make sense. I find myself fidgeting with the Chris Reeve’s Sebenza 31 for hours on end. 2020 lead to some extra EDC pieces for all of us. I spent entirely way too much on this face mask from U-Mask after being easily influenced by my favorite F1 drivers wearing them all season. The last few miscellaneous items in my everyday carry are the tried and true AirPod Pros, a pair of Ray Ban Wayfarers or Aviators depending on the day and this Mont Blanc M pen. I've always been a big fan of the MontBlanc M pen because of it's minimal Apple-like design courtesy of Marc Newsom. Chrissa Barroma 🤍 SCRIPT: The desk, chair, and surrounding furniture are all from ikea. I chose a simple black and white palette for the base of this setup with a few earthy accent colors. Overall, I have two devices for work - my laptop and my surface pro. Both computers are connected to a power bar on the side of my desk. This is where I charge all my devices and it is the control switch for the main overhead light. The light is a simple strip light from home depot, and I've connected it to the bottom of my shelf. That way the entire desk is illuminated without having to use desk lamps. The idea is that I only have to click one switch to activate all of my devices. Now, let’s get into the specifics I have a 15 inch asus zenbook with maxed out specs. To be honest, I don’t really know a lot about computers, I just chose a laptop that has enough storage and power to run softwares like adobe premiere pro and solidworks. I typically use the surface pro for note taking while I’m watching a lecture. This really comes in handy whenever I need to draw diagrams or solve math problems. Occasionally, I use my surface pro as a second monitor I use a logitech m70 bluetooth mouse. It’s considered to be one of logitech’s budget mice and it’s design is very similar to the logitech mx master, but it’s only about a third of the price. I use a pretty simple mouse pad made by steelseries. It’s small, minimal, and easy to clean. Next up, I use a bluetooth mechanical keyboard made by a company called Gamesir. It’s much cheaper than other mechanical keyboards, and it works great for everyday use. I like the response that I get when I type on it and I really love the white backlit keys. There are a bunch of cool LED light options for this keyboard, which makes it way more fun to do work. What I love about this mouse and keyboard is that I can connect them to multiple devices at once. I use logitech flow, which allows me to seamlessly connect my mouse to both computers. Similarly, my keyboard is connected to both devices. This allows me to easily switch between both computers, which definitely helps with productivity. Eventually, I want to add an external monitor to this setup, but I still haven’t found one that fits in my budget. For now, my laptop sits on a laptop stand which helps with my posture while I’m sitting at my desk. A good guideline is to make sure that the top of your screen is in line with the height of your eyes. To the left of my desk, I have a pegboard which is what I use to store my office supplies, notebooks, everyday carry items, and other miscellaneous tech. I like having a pegboard because everything is visible, organized, and easy to find. I also have a little bamboo plant and pride flag that sits on my desk. Studies show that indoor plants can boost your mood, productivity, concentration and creativity. That is why I have kept the same bamboo plant on my desk for the past four years. On the wall next to my desk is a chalkboard. I use this to keep track of appointments and reminders. Last, I have a shelf right above my desk. This is where I store items like my blue yeti microphone, a manfrotto mini tripod, and my external hard drives. I also have a few nerdy items like newton’s cradle and a lego structure of the eiffel tower. Yeah, that is Draco Malfoy on the Eiffel tower. I’m actually a slytherin so I think it fits.
