And then we're gonna be talking about the future of the Ubuntu desktop, as well as the Enterprise Linux drama is back and this time, not for Red Hat though. We're gonna be talking about CIQ slash Rocky Linux, Also, we've got some distro releases and some more app news. So, Valve has announced SteamPlay and Proton, two new tools to run Windows Games on Linux directly through the native Steam client on Linux. Based on Wine, DXVK (DirectX to Vulkan conversion layer) and a bottling system, this new open source tool allows you to play any of your windows game in your steam library on Linux. NOTE: the audio stuttering is due to Proton and not OBS / the recording software. Only a few games are supported officially at the moment, but you can already try all other unsupported ones, which is exactly what I'm going to do. We'll see what Proton is, what is means for Linux gaming, and we'll compare performance for The Witcher, Soulstorm, Space Hulk DeathWing, Stalker, BloodBowl 2; Dead Space, and Vermintide ! Recently, Valve announced their upcoming handheld gaming device, the Steam Deck, which is really a portable PC that will run Arch Linux. You can even plug in a monitor to the Steam Deck.
